About

My name is Jasmine Ella
I am a Macrame fashion designer

I started macrame 4 years ago (2019) after an accident I wasn't able to continue my passion as a hairdresser with limited movement in my shoulder.

It is extremely therapeutic and high satisfaction making things and definitely cured the soul not being able to practice yoga or work.

How it started was …. I wanted a macrame swing. Not your common hammock style chair swing..... a swing with 2 macrame sides and a wooden seat. I Could not buy one anywhere in Australia. So that's where it began, from there I made earrings, key chains, and bags for friends and family. I then started going to a local market at Redcliffe and was selling décor and accessories.

I Finally had my shoulder surgery in March 2023 and was able to start recovering and then started learning pattern design for macrame clothing. (2023) Had done my first photo shoot and found my calling. In 2024 I applied for my first runway and that's where it exploded. I challenged myself to step pass the macrame stereotype. Searching online the most common  use for macrame is festival and goddess vibes, which is absolutely stunning! But its also very intricate and expensive and not things you can wear regularly. I made beautiful original designs that were able to be worn with clothes or over bikinis for beach wear.

I have always been a creative and right now at this moment I am exactly where I need to be. I have met amazing people and am part of an amazing community. Where I can be creative and constantly grow towards new challenges and fresh designs. Wearable art has also given me a very high desirer to create ethical designs that go beyond your expected structures and create beautiful walking art pieces. Stay tuned

Stereotype

Macrame can be perceived as Festival goddess only.... but I want to break that stereo type and bring macrame into the everyday world. (Macrame festival goddess is still stunning and love it)BUT think of it as

> Luxury resort wear > Evening wear >

Ready to wear

Macrame can be worn like crochet, which has become popular over the last few years. It adds texture and movement to clothing

Creative shoots

Macrame is especially stunning in photo shoots as it adds so much movement and interest into your poses .I'm working on having a photoshoot rental availability > If you want to hire any pieces, please message me ♡ I'm constantly working on new art pieces for events as it sparks so much fire into my creative soul.
